Climbing to the Highest Peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina – Alpine Route from Prijevor

The meeting point is our accommodation in the Sutjeska National Park (Green Villas Tjentište), where we get acquainted with the plan and program. After a brief briefing with our guide and equipment check, we embark on our off-road adventure to conquer the highest peak in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Maglić, at 2386 meters above sea level.

We organize the ascent to Maglić using the most popular route – the alpine trail from Prijevor. From this point, a very sharp ascent follows, so we kindly ask you to strictly follow the advice and orders of our guide.

Initially, the trail may be deceptive, but once again, we ask you not to relax at any moment. We go through juniper thickets, scree, and admire the truly fascinating view during the ascent. The fatigue that overtakes you is much easier to bear when you look around. In the final, very steep ascent, we reach the ridge between the Montenegrin and Bosnian Maglić. This part of the ascent is secured for safety reasons and steepness with a total of three alpine ropes, so extra attention is needed in this section. Our guide is in front of you all the time, so there is no place for panic; soon, we'll be at the very top of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

There are no overly difficult elements during the ascent, but it is necessary to respect the steepness and follow your guide's advice.

Previous experience and suitable footwear are desirable.

After the ascent, breaks, and photography, we continue our today's adventure towards the jewel of the Piva Nature Park – Trnovačko Lake, which is the most popular and visited lake in this area.

Snack (launch package) at the lake and a short break with the inevitable Travarica at Miloš's place (the host of the lake), followed by a return via Prijevor back to Tjentište by 7:00 PM, concluding your arrangement. We remind you that you can extend this and other arrangements with an overnight stay in our villas in Tjentište. Also, you can combine this arrangement with other excursions available on our website.
